How do you encourage visitors to your winery to buy? Well, that depends on the customers. For example:
- If the people in your tasting room are first time visitors, it helps to give them a short background about the winery and information.
- If your guests are regular customers, then a lot of the work you would have to do with first time visitors is already done and you talk to them as you would your friends.
Every person who comes into the tasting room needs to know that you are pleased to see them and that you will do everything you can to make their visit enjoyable and interesting. If your guests want to tell you everything they know about wine, then you get a chance to listen and possibly learn. Or if this is the first time your guests have been wine tasting you get to give them information about your winery and wines that they can take home to tell all their friends about the wonderful winery they found.
Also, give your guests the chance to talk about your wine and to ask you questions or to tell you about their experiences with wine or other wineries.
If you have the time and opportunity offer to give your guests a quick peak into the cellar.
Especially if there is work being done on the crush pad on in the cellar.
The goal is to make your guests (especially first-time guests) feel as if you are pleased to see them (which you should be) and that you have really enjoyed their visit. Doing this will bring many of your customers back to see you again.
Give visitors they information they want, as well as the information you want them to have. Make them comfortable and welcome and not only will they come ack but the will tell their friends.
The overall goal is to make friends as friends will be back to see you again and to buy wine.
A tip of the glass from me to you!
