Emails are, of course, the easiest and quickest way to contact your customers. It is because of this that your customers get so many emails each day. The first thing I do when I get to my computer in the morning is to delete most of the spam emails that came in during the night and early morning. I continue to delete emails I either don’t want or have read at least three times, every day.
I will read the emails that come from clients and friends (of course). I also read advertisement emails from companies that I might be interested in, and if the first paragraph appeals to me, I may read further.
Naturally, I do read all the emails that I get from wineries because that is my business. It helps me to keep up with everything that is going on in the industry in different wine areas both in and out of the United States and Canada.
As you can imagine, there are many emails that are similar. Sales offers are certainly very popular. Buyers receive a certain percentage off the price of the wine if they buy a certain number of bottles or cases within a short time frame. “This week Only” or “Spring Sale” etc. are very common.
While this is a good way to get people to read your sales offer, you need to be sure that you are also advertising the quality and drinkability of the wine as well as the price. You do not want to become known for your frequent sales, rather than the quality of the wine.
When you are creating sales ads or information, also let your readers know how wonderful your wines are. Perhaps using a couple of quotes from your customers.
A tip of the glass from me to you!
